Volunteering

Never question the value of volunteers. Noah's Ark was built by volunteers. Titanic was built by professionals!

We are a small family of fantastic volunteers dedicated to finding new and loving homes for the cats in our care.

Volunteering is a positive thing to do. You will make new friends, develop new skills and know that you are making a difference to the lives of both cats and people. Training and ongoing support is provided for all our volunteers.

If you have any special skills that you think we could make use of with our work, then please get in touch today. A chat costs nothing and it could lead both of us on a new chapter!

Unfortunately we are not able to support anyone under the age of 16 who wishes to carry out work experience or those taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

Branch team leader

The importance of volunteers to Cats Protection cannot be overestimated. We are only able to help thousands of cats and kittens each year due to the efforts of our passionate volunteers who willingly give up their time and expertise to help our feline friends in need.  Our branch team leaders support volunteer groups in regards to all aspects of their roles, making make sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported in their roles.

Volunteer welfare team leader

Without the passionate and committed teams volunteers across Cats Protection we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats and kittens each year that rely on us for help. Our welfare team leaders have the important role of co-ordinating, encouraging and supporting teams of volunteer fosterers and cat care volunteers. They help make sure other volunteers with direct cat care roles are happy and confident and provide advice and guidance when needed. This incredible teamwork means we are able to help more cats and kittens in need.
