Mary's Message, October 2016

26 October 2016
Mary

This year we have been blessed to have three different generous ladies support our branch with incredible challenges.

Sarah Nubeebuckus-Jones - The Great North Run

Here I am with Sarah at her pub, The Crown in Knaphill collecting the extraordinary sum raised of £1,610.40p On behalf of all of us at Woking CP thank you so much Sarah. Your fantastic donation will make a big impact upon our work supporting cats and people in the Woking & District areas we cover. It is a fitting tribute to your beautiful cat, Tom.

Josey Tranter – The Zambezi River Challenge

Josey went half way round the world to do her challenge.  We don’t have a figure yet for what she has raised but here are a few images that Josey has sent us. They are certainly big cats Josey, big to match your heart for doing this on behalf of Woking CP. I am sure your lovely Little Miss P is very proud of you, as are we.

Caroline Crockram - Ride London

Last but not least Caroline, your cycle ride was epic. Your challenge was the first one and I think you set the bar high, raising a fantastic £842.93! You wanted to give something back and for sure you certainly have done so. I presume Buddy and Hattie watched the race!

Internet Kitten Campaign

Cats Protection has launched a hard hitting campaign to tackle the despicable online trading of kittens. We at Woking CP are 100% behind this campaign and urge everyone to please participate. Please come and see us at our Christmas Fayre on Saturday 29th October at New Haw Community Centre, from 11am to 3pm. We will have more information on the campaign and you will be able to sign one of the campaign postcards there and then.

You can also follow this link: http://www.cats.org.uk/news/join-our-campaign-to-protect-kittens-bred-for-sale to the main Cats Protection site and complete a letter to your MP. This is one of the most important and significant activities to stamp out the abject cruelty and misery subjected to cats who are forced to have litter after litter and the subsequent kittens that at best are living in misery and suffer lifelong disabilities and at worst will die in unimaginable pain and suffering.

We must all work together to bring these unscrupulous people to book. NEVER BUY A KITTEN ON LINE!

I ask everyone, most sincerely to please support this campaign.

Thank you
